But as a child the subconscious connection is enough to draw you in.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06092500646246056371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1048204038013184233.post-16941329997900208802012-05-17T21:09:54.424-04:002012-05-17T21:09:54.424-04:00I like that bit "childhood is wonderful and t...I like that bit "childhood is wonderful and terrible all at once". I never realized before that this is what Sendak's Wild Things story touches on, or about how kids deal with anger. I just remember feeling drawn to that story in spite of how it frightened me----a bit like how I feel about my anger in my adulthood. Turns out he had a visual imagination: it all went on in his head, like a movie. He didn't need to "pretend" with words. They've gotten so much else wrong. They do so much to scare parents into thinking they have answers when they have so very little. They only see the outside (behavior) and never think to ask about the inside.

By "they", I mean the "experts" none of whom will admit to autism.

but love given openly in spite of our essential f***ed-up-ness.” ----I better call my mom.
