  1. Thanks! I can relate to this. My personal nightmare is having friends who expect to speak to me on the phone regularly, some two or more times per day, I guess, to share whatever thoughts they are having. I mentioned to one friend I'm not a phone person and prefer email, and she said to get a grip, that she wouldn't enable me. WTF? She could always text me. That would be okay.

  2. You're welcome - she actually said "enable?" - terrible. As if you have a bad habit that needs fixing. This seems to be a widespread view, unfortunately.

  3. This is perfect! I don't understand why people feel the need to socialize in person or over the phone when it is so much easier to do it via email.

My nightmare: voicemail that ends in "call me back."

My dream: voicemail that ends in "call or email me back."

  4. Thank you, Stimey. I do have people I actually enjoy talking to on the phone, but in other cases I'll use email to respond to a voice mail. As for those who insist on socializing, my point in this post is that as much as we don't understand how they tick, they don't understand us either.
