Name the Skunk Contest

Readers, here’s another chance for you to have creative input into the “Dude, I’m An Aspie” universe! As you may know, it’s my tradition to crowdsource my character names.
The skunk cop is the enforcer of unwritten social rules. Stealthy and sly, this stickler goes strictly by the book. Always seen with his trademark helmet, he sneaks like a ninja, ready to pounce at the slightest infraction, whether premature email reply or double-parked derriere. Unflappable and streetwise, this scoundrel’s not afraid to cop a ‘tude, or get in your face to mix it up. So you best brush up on the social code, or you’re bound to butt heads when this weasel’s on the scene. But as much as he gets his kicks from ticketing, he'd just as soon get his groove on to the Harlem Shake.

The contest winner will receive a signed paperback copy of Dude, I’m An Aspie! original or kids’ edition!

Submit your entries in the comments below, post them on our Facebook, or tweet to me with the hashtag #nametheskunk.

Entries will be accepted through 7 PM Eastern time, Thursday June 13, 2013, or until a suitable name is chosen. Entries will be judged solely by me. Enter as many times as you want!

The skunk is great fun to draw and write for, and I enjoy the dynamic he brings to the comic. So don't be a stinker, enter your most creative idea! Let’s find a name for our funky skunky!

Name the Giraffe Contest

He needs a name.

The giraffe is the first new character I created for Dude, who did not come from my childhood cast of characters.

The giraffe is the facilitator of an Aspie support group. He fields many tough questions. Sometimes he has great ideas, other times he is clueless, but he means well. Kind of like real life, no?

You might wonder, why a giraffe? Continuing my long history of audience participation into my character development, I took my question to the Twitter, and there you have it.

The contest winner will receive a custom avatar of your choice drawn by me! (130 x 130 pixels)

Stretch your creative muscles, folks! You have a high standard to live up to. Consider that our current lineup of characters includes a dog named Dinky Doughnuts, a bird named Squishy, and a Fuzzysnussle. “Bob” the giraffe is not gonna cut it.

Enter in the comments below, on Facebook, or Twitter. Entries will be accepted through 8 PM Eastern on Wednesday 8/31. Enter as many times as you want.

So stick your neck out, and name that giraffe!
