  1. That is such a wonderful cartoon-reminds me of something I heard a long time ago
Should chicken be eaten with the fingers? No! the fingers should be eaten separately.

  2. Need to know what clove-flavoured Neccos are! Just curious... actually, really dislike clove flavour = )

  4. Spinach totally makes my mouth squeak; why does it do that?

  5. Hi Raas, Spinach Teeth is caused by oxalic acid found in spinach. I seem to recall this as more of a problem with raw spinach than cooked.

Fun fact: If you eat too much spinach, you will get kidney stones due to the oxalic acid.

  7. OMG Matt. I so needed that laugh today! This is 100% my little Aspie. He will only eat a certain brand of amish made ketchup with certain foods because "it contains just a hint of cinnamon" and it goes with some foods while plain old ketchup goes with others. He refuses to eat his vegetables cooked and he likes strange combinations of foods. You really made my day with this. I can't wait to share it with Charlie. Hilarious. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  8. Hi Laura, I'm glad you enjoyed it. This was really meant to be a "zany" post, but it's nice that people still see a hint of truth in it.

  9. OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT. Spinach totally squeaks. Also, that second to last drawing of Fuzzy looks pretty much exactly like my Jack when he is mad.

  10. Ah yes, Stimey, so you are familiar with the "I'll Cook Your Goose" Look.

  11. Haha! Squeaky spinach! So true. I wonder what other foods squeak?

I loved the "Dorsal, caudal, adipose" too. Don't forget the ventral and pectoral fins.

We are *not* picky eaters. That's just stuff that was never meant to be eaten!

  12. This reminds me of last week, I picked a tomato that was slightly over-ripe. Usually I like fresh tomatoes, but on this one...dun dun dun...the skin was peeling off slightly. For some reason, that was just gag-inducing. Skin needs to stay on the tomato! I think one reason some of us might like weird food combos is that we may not care or notice as much about what foods are culturally appropriate. When I went to Japan, I thought *everyone* was eating weird food combos!

  13. Sesha, I think most raw greens are squeaky. You know your fish anatomy!

Ily, I agree - I don't want loose skin on any of my fruit.

  14. lol!

Ah, a good laugh. I needed that. Not been good month due to health issues that are still being figured out. It appears to be lung associated. Not asthma, though. Not conclusively at least. But the breathing problems and sometimes just not feeling all that well suck. It might sound minor, but try breathing with a tight chest. Then tell me, or anyone with similar problems, it's minor.

Sorry for rant. Wasn't feeling good and ended up leaving work early. Hoping for conclusive results with testing on Monday. If it means lifetime of meds, but getting to bottom of it all, then so be it.

Anyway, thanks again for a good laugh. I needed that.

  15. Hi Chris, sorry to hear about health issues - maybe it is just seasonal allergies. Hope you recover soon.

  16. That was completely brilliant. 'Cause it's not like we've ever been through that at our house. Nope. Not ever.

    (Yeah, right.)

    Thank you.

  17. How did I miss this toon? Better late than never, I guess.
My food adversion is oil. Especially when olive oil is used as a "flavoring" and everything on the plate is SOAKED and the roasted veggies are a oily mushy pile. It all looks like I bled out my car's crankcase. :p

    1. Yeah, but I do like to sop it up on bread with some garlic.

  18. I never considered myself a picky eater but my mom did conplane that none of us kids liked "kid foods" like spegetteos & candy necleses, all 3 of us were culenery critics & pefered home made food with lots of flaver, rich & our meat prepared rare to enhance flaver, but I ate cabbige stalkes, boled cabbige, corn, greenbeans, (but do prefer canned to fresh) chicken, fish, beef, pork, rabbit, rattle snake, ect. I am although a creative cook basicly a simple palet, I don't like pickled pigs feet, rocky mouten oasters, calemary, octipus, clams (exsept fried) oasters, suishie, that kind of thing.

    1. That doesn't sound picky to me - I think most of us are with you on the pickled pigs' feet.
