Thoughts and illustrations on living with Asperger's Syndrome.
It's you and it's them! You don't fit into their small comfort zone. You make them feel uncomfortable and they don't like that. Their world only has room for those they understand, those that fit. You don't fit into that mold. And they won't make the effort to grow and enlarge their world. To try only makes them anxious. That's unacceptable to them.
Sounds like Wrong Planet syndrome to me -- but then, what aliens ever receive a warm welcome? Thanks for the comment.
This is very appropriate timing for something I was just thinking about, thanks! I think what helps me is that most people don't like *everyone,* NT people don't like or aren't liked by everyone, sometimes it just seems that way because it feels so difficult on this side of the spectrum. - Hanne
You're welcome, Hanne - and true, this is for NT's as well.
Very well captured and presented.
Who says that AS and NT can't have common ground? This is one of the things that ties us, whether each person sees or wants to see it - well, that's a different subject entirely!Such sage advice. Everyone could profit from that.Chris
Thank you for sharing such wise words. I hope I can learn to take them to heart.
Thanks Chris and thanks anonymous!
I like you, Matt.I think you're a pretty interesting person.-Katie
